The payroll department processes wage and salary payments for graduate assistants, faculty, administrative and classified employees. The department is also responsible for the administration of voluntary and involuntary payroll deductions, reporting retirement, insurance and annuity contributions to the appropriate carriers, proper reporting to taxing agencies and the production of W2, 1042s and 1099 tax statements.

Direct deposit of wages is required for all employees. Effective January 1, 2007, electronic processing will be the only acceptable method of paying employees' wages. Direct deposit is an efficient, convenient, cost-free employee benefit that allows the electronic transfer of payment from UL Lafayette to an employee's checking account or savings account.
