Memorial Day

Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 2008, is a State legal holiday. The academic calendar allows for the University to observe this holiday, therefore offices will be closed.

Classified employees in other areas may be granted the same benefits provided such time off does not interfere with the efficient administration of facilitiies. Main campus employees required to work on this holiday will be granted the appropriate benefits designated by Civil Service regulations.

Easter Holidays/Spring Break

The University will observe the following schedule for the Easter Holidays/Spring Break:

Office will close at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2008, and will reopen at 7:30 a.m on Tuesday, March 25, 2008. The academic calendar allows for a Spring Break - Monday, March 24, 2008 through Friday, March 28, 2008. Classes will not be held this week, however, offices will be open Tuesday, March 25 through Friday, March 28, 2008, and unclassified and classified employees will be required to work.

Since only Friday, March 21, 2008, has been declared a State legal holiday, classified employees and unclassified employees ( personnel hired on a 12-month basis) will be charged annual or compensatory leave on Monday, March 24th. Unclassified leave records will automatically be charged. Employees without sufficient accumulated compensatory or annual leave will have their pay docked the next applicable pay period,

It should be noted that twelve-month administrative personnel who are authorized or required to work on March 24 should reflect the earning of 8.75 hours of compensatory leave on the monthly leave report. This action would offset the automatic charge of compensatory leave referred to in the previous paragraph.

Classified employees in other areas may be granted the same benefits provided such time off does not interfere with the efficient administration of facilities. Main campus employees required to work on these holidays will be granted the appropriate benefits designated by Civil Service regulations.
